Gil had felt lead for several years a strong desire to work at home beside his children. He felt that the LORD had literally given us this land and surely we could do something on it to provide for our family. So in February 2011 Gil came home from the corporate world to try and make this vision a reality. We have also developed a strong belief in eating wisely without all the modern food chemicals, and trying to produce our own food off the land (as much as possible, we don’t grow wheat, for example). Realizing that not everyone has the same desires or capabilities; our vision, and our farm, was now born. This is what we believe God wants us to do! We desire to produce and sell the finest quality fresh produce, raw goats milk, goat milk soap, fresh baked goods (with freshly ground wheat), and whatever else we can produce right here on this little patch of land the LORD has provided us. Our main garden is 20,000 square feet of raised rows. We produce leafy greens, spinach, peas, carrots, potatoes, green beans, tomatoes, zucchini, summer and fall squashes, onions, radishes, turnips, broccoli, cabbage, cucumbers, sweet potatoes, okra, herbs, strawberries, blackberries, cantaloupe, watermelon, and anything else we can possibly fit in! We are always ready to try something new! We love for people to come out, shop the farm, and share any gardening wisdom they have learned along the way as well. We have been amazed at just how many people want to come out and see what we are doing here. So many folks have come with questions about how we do it all, and how we are raising our family. We certainly don’t have all the answers (We are just thankful we know the One who does.), but we are delighting in all the chances that we are getting to meet people and share what we are trying to do. This little farm has turned into just as much of a family ministry as it has been a way for us to try to provide for ourselves and others. There is definitely a movement of folks desiring to get back to the land and the “old ways” that the world no longer considers worthwhile. If the LORD wants to use us in helping others do this too, then we are blessed to be a part of His plans.
In addition to our main garden we also produce a high quality Nubian goat milk, and raise farm fresh eggs. We have also begun making goat cheeses, and Cynthia makes fresh ground, whole wheat baked goods. We look forward to being able to sell these items to anyone who desires to have them. We began offering a CSA Membership in 2012 as well as selling from our farm stand located at the West gate to our property. God has blessed our many decisions to follow, trust, and obey Him; and we delight in seeing Him continue to lead, guide, and provide for our family. So give us a call, come on out, and see what the LORD has done!
We hope to see you soon!
